It takes less than five minutes to setup a portal with Stacker. If you get stuck along the way then refer to the video above or contact us using the speech bubble in the bottom right hand corner and we'll be able to help you out.
To use Stacker you need to have an Airtable base. If you don't have an Airtable base you can sign up for Airtable and create a base. They have loads of templates to get you started. You don't need to be on a paid Airtable plan to use Stacker.
Whilst Stacker can be used on mobile devices the setup of a new Stacker portal requires some steps which are hard to complete on mobile. We recommend you use a larger screen (laptop, desktop) when going through this process.
Sign up for Stacker on our registration page.
You will need to enter:
Your email address
A password for your new Stacker account
Click Sign Up.
On the screen that follows you'll be asked to pick a name for your portal, this will determine the web address of your portal.
Enter a name and click Next Step.
You will also be given the chance to:
Pick a brand color
Upload a logo
Upload a square logo
We use the square logo for the favicon of your site, and the other logo everywhere else.
When you are happy with your settings click Next Step.
To use Stacker you need to have your users stored in your Airtable. We call this table your User Table. If you don't have a table of your users in Airtable, create this now. Make sure it includes an email address column.
Click I'm Ready.
To connect to Airtable we need two pieces of information:
We use the Airtable API key to connect to Airtable, and we use the Base Share Link to build your portal around the data structure you have in Airtable.
Once the import is complete. Click Next.
Select the table that contains your users. Click Next.
Select the column that contains their email addresses. Click Next.
You can now pick which tables will be enabled in your portal. Don't worry you can re-enable any of these later on. Click Next.
